Taos Lifestyle Productions presents a trifecta of world class singer/songwriters at “Songs and Stories II” from 7-10 p.m. Dec. 28 at the Taos Center for the Arts.
Michael Hearne opens the show with Taos native Max Gomez and Grammy nominated Shawn Mulllins who will perform songs about life, love and the American dream.
“This is the second year that Taos Lifestyle Productions has brought ‘Songs and Stories’ to Taos, and we are hopeful this will be another sold out event,” said “Mattress Mary” Domito, owner of Taos Lifestyle Productions. “‘Songs and Stories II’ will feature three well known singer/songwriters whose unique talents will blend for a soulful evening of stories, told through lyrics and music.”
The songwriters will share the stage in this intimate concert which includes a few solos and duets, where stories will be woven into songs. In 2012, the inaugural “Songs and Stories” show sold out, which included Chuck Cannon, Lari White, Max Gomez and Michael Hearne.
Both Grammy nominated folksinger Shawn Mullins and up and coming singer/songwriter and Taoseño, Max Gomez, have toured together across the country.
Mullins is best known for his Top Ten hit, “Lullaby.” He released his 11th studio album, Light You Up, in 2010. “Esquire” magazine named Gomez’ original song, “Rule the World” as one of the “best new songs of 2013,” and Gomez continues to receive national accolades for his skill at building stories into his grass roots musical style.
Likewise, Americana guitarist Michael Hearne has received critical acclaim for his 2007 CD, The High Road to Taos. Hearne’s band South by Southwest have won several awards at the New Mexico Music Awards, and Hearne has had a chance to co-write alongside Grammy winners Mentor Willliams and Andy Byrd, to name a few.
General admission to the show is $25. Doors open at 7 p.m. on Dec. 28 and the show begins at 8 p.m. A cash bar will be available in the Encore Gallery lobby.
Taos Center for the Arts is located at 133 Paseo del Pueblo Norte in Taos, within walking distance from the historic Taos Inn.
Tickets are expected to sell out quickly. Tickets can be purchased by calling 575-758-2052 or online at taoslifestyleproductions.com.
