A scary movie with a lot of Hollywood buzz is coming to New Mexico with production locations in Los Alamos and Red River.

“Let Me In,” to be directed by Matt Reeves, will be based at Albuquerque Studios, making its production start in a few weeks.

According to Gov. Bill Richardson’s office, the film will employ more than 600 crewmembers, actors and extras.

“Let Me In” is a remake of a 2004 Swedish Film “Let the Right One In,” about school bullies and vampires.  The original movie was based on a Swedish novel, “Lat den Ratte Kom In,” (“Let the Right One In.”)

There has been a bit of vampire mania in the entertainment world lately, with a number of film and television works, including “Twilight,” using the genre and finding commercial success

The English-language version is set to star two youngsters, Kodi Smit-McPhee and Chloe Moretz as the child leads and Richard Jenkins, who was nominated for an Oscar for his lead role in “The Visitor,” will play the leading adult, known as Hakan in the Swedish film.
