Mountaineer tallk features caving expeditions in New Mexico, Belize, and Mexico

The Los Alamos Mountaineers on Wednesday evening will host long-time cavers Brian Kendrick and James Hunter as they share their incredible photographs of and exciting adventures in some of the most spectacular caves in the world.

Brian Kendrick has been actively caving for over seven years primarily in New Mexico with a few caving trips to Colorado, Arizona, and the Tennessee, Alabama, Georgia (TAG) areas.

Until recently, Kendrick served as chairman of the Pajarito Grotto, a post he held for five years. He has participated in numerous cave restoration trips in the Guadalupe Mountains and is level-one certified in cave rescue by the National Cave Rescue Commission.

He is actively participating in the exploration of all three branches of Lechuguilla Cave, Ft. Stanton Cave, and several smaller caves.

He is an avid cave photographer, and will share many of his own very special photos.

During this presentation, Kendrick will discuss basic caving and expedition caving, which include the recent exciting discoveries in Lechuguilla and Ft. Stanton caves.

Hunter first became interested in caving through the New Mexico Tech caving club in 1999 and has been an avid caver ever since. His primary interests are new exploration (surveying), vertical caving, cave climbing and cave photography.
