Clay Moseley was the top finisher on the long course during the final Splash N Dash of the year.
Moseley, a top local athlete and former member of the United States national cycling team, finished the long course, consisting of a 400-yard swim and 5K run, in 27 minutes, 3 seconds at the Aug. 7 event.
The Splash N Dash series, an annual event held during the summer months, is hosted by the Triatomics multi-sport club. Its main purpose is to help prepare athletes for the Los Alamos Triathlon. The triathlon is set for Saturday.
Moseley had both the second-fastest swim time and the second-fastest 5K time among the competitors at the fourth and final Splash N Dash.
Matt Gonzales won the previous three Splash N Dash events this summer but didn’t compete in the Aug. 7 race.
On the shorter course, the team of Nida Parra/Roxanna Candia had the best time, 19:27. Gabe Katko (20:26) had the top individual finish.
Marlee Katko/Kim Katko was the fastest finisher on the youth course while Hailey McDowell had the best individual time.
