While awaiting a bed at the psychiatric hospital in Las Vegas, N.M., Los Alamos police have placed Richard Morse in a private “direct observation” cell that is connected to the detention facility’s computer control room.
This particular cell allows jail officers to observe Morse directly through a window as well as via computer screens, Capt. Randy Foster said. The cell is equipped with a bed, sink, toilet, shower, television, desk and telephone.
Any medical care that Morse may require while awaiting transfer for his court ordered psychiatric evaluation in Las Vegas will be administered by the Los Alamos Medical Center, Foster said.
