LAS CRUCES (AP) — Democratic state Sen. Howie Morales says he’s going to run for his party’s nomination for governor.
The 40-year-old Silver City lawmaker told the Las Cruces Sun-News that he’s been receiving a lot of encouragement to run.
Morales said he’ll enter the race next week. He’ll join two announced candidates for the Democratic nomination to challenge Republican Susana Martinez. The other Democrats in the race are Attorney General Gary King and state Sen. Linda Lopez.
