ALBUQUERQUE—New Mexico Press Women (NMPW) elected Carol A. Clark to the position of state board president during its annual conference held recently at the Marriott Hotel in Albuquerque.
Clark is the county editor and senior reporter for the Los Alamos Monitor, where she has worked for five years.
She also produces and hosts “Behind the White Coat: Conversations with Los Alamos Scientists,” which is broadcast on PAC 8 and UCTV.
The organization’s new state vice president is author, journalist and photographer Sharon Niederman of Albuquerque and Raton.
Niederman has written a number of books on Southwest culture and also tours statewide as a guide with the University of New Mexico’s Continuing Education program, the “Story of New Mexico.”
Gov. Bill Richardson recently appointed Niederman to the board of directors of the Farm and Ranch Heritage Museum in Las Cruces.
Sara Ford of Santa Fe will serve as state board secretary. Ford is a freelance writer. She writes primarily about art for a number of publications. Ford’s experience also includes working for ABC News, NBC News and other broadcast outlets.
