The Los Alamos Monitor will now print at no charge announcements of local engagements, weddings, births and anniversaries.
The decision marks a change in a policy that was put in place a couple of years ago that required payment for that service.
“Those items should be free for the people of Los Alamos, and now they are,” said the paper’s new publisher, Ben Carlson.
“We realize how important those announcements are not only to those making them, but to their friends and neighbors who want to know about and share in their good news.”
Submitting the information is simple.
Go to LAMonitor.com and click the “Submit News” button on the home page. Electronic forms for those announcements are located within that tab, including the ability to attach an image.
For those unable to submit announcements online, copies of those forms are available at the newspaper’s office, located at 256 DP Road in Los Alamos.
Submitted announcements will appear each Sunday.
There still will be charges for obituaries.
