Colorado Timberline Academy announces that James Coburn, son of Steven Coburn of Los Alamos and Martha C. Perkins of Santa Fe, has been named to the academic honor roll for blocs one and three. The honor roll distinction specifies that a student must have a 3.0 grade point average with nothing below a B, for an academic bloc, a period of four or five weeks. There are seven blocs in a school year.

Maria McTeigue, of Los Alamos, a student at Los Alamos High School, has been nominated to represent New Mexico as a National Youth Correspondent to the 2013 Washington Journalism and Media Conference at George Mason University.
McTeigue has been awarded the opportunity to join a select group of 250 students from across the country to participate in an intensive week-long study of journalism and media. McTeigue was chosen based on academic accomplishments and a demonstrated interest and excellence in journalism and media studies.
The Washington Journalism and Media Conference will be July 7-July 12.

Colleen Fearey of Los Alamos has earned highest honors for the fall semester of the 2012-2013 academic year at the University of New Hampshire.
Students named to the dean’s list at the University of New Hampshire have earned recognition through their superior scholastic performance. Highest honors are awarded to students who earn a semester grade point average of 3.85 or better out of a possible 4.0. Students with a 3.65 to 3.84 average are awarded high honors and students whose grade point average is 3.5 through 3.64 are awarded honors.
