Middle School Science Bowl

The Los Alamos Middle School and Albuquerque Academy squared off in the final match of the Northern New Mexico Middle School Science Bowl at the Mesa Public Library Friday. The match was a continuation from last weekend when organizers ran out of questions. On Friday, Los Alamos fell just short. Team members included Daniel Ben-Naim, Melanie Borup, Jimmy Sinnis, Willie Zhao,  and Alex Wang (captain). The team was coached by Los Alamos High students: Micha Ben-Naim, Scott Carlsten, and Lorenzo Venneri. The Los Alamos Middle School teacher/coaches were Hank and Barbara Jo Mullis. Albuquerque Academy will represent New Mexico at the national competition in Washington D.C. in late April. Co-sponsors of the event were the Los Alamos National Laboratory, Los Alamos National Security, Department of Energy-Office of Science, and Sandia National Laboratories.
