Maria Viola Sanchez McTeigue

McTEIGUE Maria Viola Sanchez McTeigue, age 76, passed away in Los Alamos, New Mexico on Friday, December 14, 2007, of a long history of heart failure.

Viola was preceded in death by her father Pedro Sanchez, mother Frutuosa Sanchez, sister LouAnn Sanchez, brother Dennis Sanchez, brother Willie Sanchez, and Brother-in-law Augustin Ulibarri, Sister-in-law Lydia Sanchez, Nephew Andy Sanchez, Great Nephew Dennis Mascarenas, Godfather Juan Pablo Martinez, Godmother Ignacia Martinez, many beloved Uncles and Aunts, paternal grandparents Nemecio and Libradita Sanchez and maternal grandparents Pedro Olivas Martinez and Rumaldita Rael Martinez.

Viola was born in Ojo Sarco, New Mexico, on August 5, 1931, to parents Pedro and Frutuosa Sanchez. Viola grew up in Ojo Sarco, attended St. Anthonys in Penasco, and graduated from Santa Cruz High School in Santa Cruz, both under the direction of Catholic nuns. Viola was committed to life-long learning and attended Northern New Mexico Community College and University of New Mexico, Los Alamos Campus.
