Margaret Hougham Webb, 95, a resident of Clark-Lindsey Village, passed away Monday, May 5, 2008. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, May 8, 2008, at Green Lawn Cemetery in Franklin, Indiana. Renner-Wikoff Chapel and Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
Mary Margaret Hougham was born Sept. 21, 1912, in Franklin, Ind., the daughter of Charles and Hazel Hougham. She graduated from Franklin College in 1934. She was a member of Delta Delta Delta sorority. Her education continued at Ball State University in Muncie, Ind., where she obtained her teaching credentials; she taught at Clark Township High School near Franklin.
Margaret married Harold Donivan Webb on Aug. 15, 1937, in Franklin, Ind. They moved around the country, and settled in Urbana, Ill., in 1947, where Harold was a professor of electrical engineering at the University of Illinois. Margaret was an excellent vocalist and cello player, and was active in many social activities, including the Friday Review book club, the garden club, the EE wives club and travel club. She was also active in helping her children in scouting and school activities.
