With a holiday devoted to love approaching, it seems appropriate to hold a concert celebrating this emotion. The Los Alamos High School choirs present their “Love Song Concert” at 7 p.m. Monday at Duane Smith Auditorium. “It’s a great topic,” choral director Paula Nichols said. “There’s so much music about love.”Featured in the concert will be light-hearted numbers such as “I’m Going to Wash that Man Right Out of My Hair” from “South Pacific” to more serious pieces, such as “Set Me as Your Seal.”The performers come from four different high school choirs. The beginning women’s choir, Melody; the beginning men’s choir, Bravo; advanced women’s choir, Harmony; and advanced mixed-choir, Encore; will each take the stage individually. However, for the final number, “Seasons of Love” from “Rent,” all four choirs, totaling 200 students, will sing together.Nichols said the choirs usually do three concerts a year.
