Fencers from Los Alamos had a solid showing at the Nick Toth Open in Colorado Springs, Colo. Oct. 27-28.
Epeeists Dominic Peterson, Zack Kenyon and Tom Hill finished in the top half of a strong field at the event, which included fencers from Air Force Academy and the U.S. Modern Pentathlon team.
Peterson was the top Los Alamos finisher at the event, taking 17th in a field of 71 epeeists. Peterson advanced past his first direct elimination bout before falling to eventual winner Niul Manske.
Kenyon was 33rd overall coming out of pool bouts, and Hill finished 35th overall.
Also at the open, former standout Los Alamos Fencing Club member Curtis Christensen was 29th. Christensen is a freshman at Air Force.
Los Alamos fencers will also make a showing at the Falcon Open, which will be hosted by Air Force, in early December.
