HODSON – Lola Frances Hodson, 84, a resident of Los Alamos, passed away on Thursday, Feb. 28, 2008, of natural causes. She was preceded in death by her son, Patrick Hodson; her parents, Robert J. and Marie Maher; and brother, Wayne Maher. Lola was a homemaker, a member of the Los Alamos Hospital Auxiliary known to many as the “Pink Ladies,” the Altar Society and the church Choir in Los Alamos. She worked at Los Alamos National Laboratory as a medical transcriptionist for 10 years.Lola played drums in her high school band and was a telephone operator during WWII. She never spoke ill of people and was a good friend in a crisis. Lola was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend to many. She had a good sense of humor and loved to watch the Nebraska Cornhuskers play football.Lola is survived by her husband, Ernest K. Hodson of Santa Fe; sons, Stephen Hodson and wife Linda of Knoxville, Tenn., and Richard Hodson of Los Alamos; daughters, Ellen Nuez, Lynne Chamberlin and husband John, and Lori Padilla and husband Michael, all of Los Alamos; brothers, Marvin and Thomas Maher, both of Sacramento, Calif.; sisters, Lorene Mann of Sugarland, Texas, and Marilyn Mollner of Omaha, Neb.; grandchildren, Louis and Alex Nuez, Debbie Henderson, Steve Hodson, Jared and Melissa Chamberlin, Michelle and Yvette Padilla, and Amanda, Alicia, Emily and Sarah Hodson; great-grandchildren, Jacob Nuez, Isaac Chamberlin, Kaiden Higgs and Mikayla Frances Padilla. A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Sunday, March 2, at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Los Alamos. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday, March 3, 2008, at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church with burial to follow at Guaje Pines Cemetery in Los Alamos. The following will serve as pallbearers: Stephen and Rick Hodson, John Chamberlin, Mike Padilla, Raphael Escamilla and Frankie Serna. Honorary pallbearer named is Isaac Chamberlin.
