Los Alamos School of Gymnastics Atomic Tumblers’ Elizabeth Lockhart took all-around gold in the senior age division of New Mexico compulsory state championships Feb. 25-26.
Lockhart, who competes in Level 5, picked up an all-around score of 36.125 to earn her second straight state title. Lockhart won the Level 4 state title one year ago.
To earn the state championship, Lockhart medaled in all four events, taking first on vault (9.10), second on balance beam (8.90) and third on both the parallel bars (9.20) and floor exercise (8.925).
Also for LASG, Ramya Stevens earned a bronze for her balance beam routine (9.00) and placed sixth overall (33.875).
Alyssa Hilger, in the junior age division, took third place on vault (8.80) and fourth overall, while Katrina Vinyard was seventh with an all-around score of 34.325.
Lilly Bueck brought home a gold medal in beam (9.00) and placed seventh overall (33.675) in the youngest age division.
Hilger, Lockart and Vinyard have all qualified to compete Level 6 next season.
In Level 6, Jenna Weatherbie earned a silver medal on beam (9.00) and came in sixth overall in her age division with an all-around score of 33.80.
The Atomic Tumblers compete next on April 21 at LASG’s Spring Thing intrasquad meet.
