A Los Alamos man faces felony child rape charges after admitting to having sexual relations with a 12-year-old girl.
Stephen Geisik, 21, is charged with criminal sexual penetration of a minor under age 13 — a first-degree felony.
The unidentified minor is the same who reported construction workers had raped her earlier this year — a claim that was determined to be unfounded.
According to an interview documented in the police report, the girl told investigators that she allegedly had been spending time with Geisik at his home and at a March 30 party in Rendija Canyon. In the interview, she said they would smoke marijuana and drink alcohol. She also allegedly said that she had sex with Geisik, but explained that she never felt forced to. She went on to tell police that she didn’t want to continue the relationship because Geisik had a family at home.
Police reports show that in an April 19 interview Geisik initially denied the allegations stating he knew this would happen if he hung out with her too much. However toward the end of the interview, Geisik admitted to having sex with the girl on one occasion.
At that point in the interview, Geisik was placed under arrest and booked into the Los Alamos Detention Center, where he’s still located on a $50,000 cash only bond.
The case will be arraigned in Santa Fe District Court where he will be able to enter a plea.
There had been no response to a request for an interview with Geisik as of press time.
