Each year at this time, local leaders take a moment to send their holiday wishes to the community.
Rep. Jeannette Wallace is gathering in town with family this year.
“During this season we’re delighted to be all together. I wish it could be a little warmer but at the same time it really looks and feels like Christmas,” she said.
Los Alamos County Administrator Tony Mortillaro said, “My wish for the community is a hope that everyone will have a safe and happy holiday season and that the New Year will be the beginning of a better tomorrow and bring success and good health!”
Los Alamos Fire Chief Doug Tucker and his wife Kelly are enjoying a variety of family members this holiday season.
“The fire department wishes everybody a safe and sound holiday. We want them to know how much we appreciate their support throughout the year,” Tucker said.
County Counselor Robert Gibson and his wife Lori will be taking some quiet time to relax and reflect, he said.
“Regardless of your spiritual inclination, I wish peace and goodwill to all in this joyous season,” Gibson said.
Los Alamos Police Chief Wayne Torpy is spending the holidays in town with his son who traveled from Florida to be with him.
”I wish everyone a safe holiday season. I hope they can enjoy the spirit of this season with family and friends and the beauty of this weather while being mindful of the hazards it brings,” Torpy said.
School Board President Joan Ahlers also is spending Christmas home with her family.
“I would like to wish everyone a wonderful holiday season from LAPS. May 2010 bring us all good health and happiness, we are heading into very exciting times for our district, she said. “Thank you for the support by staff, parents and all the citizens of Los Alamos!”
