For the first time in its history, a local guitarist will take the stage during the Los Alamos Arts Council’s Guitars and Gateaux show.Richard Hannemann, singer/songwriter, guitarist/composer will perform Jan. 24 at Fuller Lodge.Desserts will be served at 7 p.m. and the concert begins at 7:30 p.m.“I’m looking forward to this,” Hannemann said. “After all, I grew up in Los Alamos, and this will be my first major concert here.”The program will be a sampling of Hannemann’s original works in a blended variety of styles. “I find it a bit difficult to just focus on one and only one genre of music. Pop music, art music, the various subdivisions of each – it really doesn’t matter, since music is music and it all sort of wants to blend together,” Hannemann said. “Part of that is simply the fact that there are more than 479 million combinations of the 12 tones. Then there is the matter of the guitar itself, which Segovia once described as being a small orchestra in the hand. Both tend to push one beyond any single aspect of music.”He continued, “I’ll be doing lyric songs and guitar solos. Some of it will have a folk feel, some of it a bit of light jazz, some of it a classical/Spanish feel.
