Local courts: On the Docket 05-17-12

May 7

Chantell Murphy, 30, of Los Alamos, pleaded guilty in Los Alamos Municipal Court to speeding 11 to 15 mph over the speed limit, improper stopping, standing or parking, and for failure to pay. Judge Alan Kirk ordered Murphy to pay $167 in fines and court fees.

Tulin Yu, 43, of Los Alamos, pleaded no contest in municipal court to speeding 6 to 10 mph over the speed limit. Kirk deferred Yu’s sentence for 60 days pending successful completion of a defensive driving course and received no additional citations during that time.

Gloria Silver, 47, of Rio Rancho, pleaded guilty in municipal court to speeding 21 to 25 mph over the speed limit. Kirk ordered her to pay $196 in court fees and fines.

May 8

Eric Chavez, 25, of Los Alamos, pleaded not guilty in municipal court to having a loud muffler. Chavez was found guilty after a trial. He was ordered to pay $46 in court fees.
