Lions Club volunteer drivers a giving group

 Living alone and no longer able to drive, I was recently faced with the need to go to Santa Fe for medical treatment three days a week for six weeks.

I was relieved and heartened to learn that the Los Alamos Lions Club maintained a volunteer driver program to meet just such a need and was able to avail myself of that program.

I was very grateful to the Lions Club and the members of the volunteer driver program, especially Barbara Croley and Lee Sullivan, who recruited and scheduled the drivers, and to the drivers who gave so generously of their time, effort and equipment: Katherine Attrep, Janet Basinger, Mike Daly, John Elder, Dick Foster, Merrill Kenyon, Ursula Krause, Jim Little, Mary McCallister, Mike McKay, Doris Prokop and Lee Sullivan.

It is heartwarming to be reminded by personal experience that there are so many really good people in our midst.
