Uli’s Cottontails is hosting a competition that requires skill, creativity, thought and lots of Legos. The annual Lego design competition allows young people to prove their strengths as builders with the plastic primary-colored blocks.
The competition has two-parts, a design competition and a Lego build-off. Participants can bring in their Lego creations for the design competition starting at 10 a.m. July 7 until 1 p.m. July 10. From 1-2 p.m. the hallway beside the store will be filled with piles of Legos for the build-off. Winners will be announced July 11 and entries can be picked up July 14.
Participants in both competitions will receive certificates and participation prizes from Baskin Robbins.
First through third place winners will be awarded additional prizes.
To get in on the competition, sign up at Uli’s, located at 800 Trinity Drive, next to Baskin Robbins, or call 662-4558.
Stacy Baker, store manager, said the competition started four or five years ago. “I’ve kind of inherited it,” she said.
It’s been a popular event; Baker said last year 60 young people competed.
“Every flat surface in this place becomes covered top to bottom with Lego creations,” Baker said.
