SANTA FE, N.M. (AP) — Authorities in Santa Fe are warning residents to be on the lookout for bears.

City police say at least three bears were seen roaming the streets Tuesday.

Sightings of a mother bear and a cub first came in around 9 a.m. in the area around Santa Fe High School. A larger bear that's possibly a male was seen in the city around 10 a.m.

Last Thursday, New Mexico Game and Fish Department agents were able to corner a different mother and cub. Both were tranquilized and safely relocated.

On Sunday, a 300-pound male bear was tranquilized and relocated after he was found roaming around a Santa Fe street.

Animal Control Agents estimate about 10 different bears have been seen in the city limits in the last two weeks.
