Learn about herbal remedies for children

Parent looking  for simple things to help a sick child or build up children’s immunities can learn about herbal remedies at Pajarito Environmental Education Center.
Kristi Beguin, scientist, herbalist and environmental consultant, will offer a class on Effective Herbal Remedies for Children. Herbal remedies can be used safely to ease symptoms of illness, build immunity and enhance wellness.
This class is geared toward parents and caregivers of children ages 1-4 and will present information on herbal medicines for common childhood illnesses and immunity enhancement.  Topics covered will include common herbal remedies, basic herbal chemistry, methods of preparation, dosages, simple recipes and building an herbal medicine chest.  
The class will be from 1-4 p.m. Jan. 22 at PEEC, 3540 Orange Street, and costs $12, or $10 for PEEC members. Registration may be done on the Web at PajaritoEEC.org, by calling 662-0460, or at PEEC.
