Jamie Romack hit a pair of home runs for the Albuquerque Isotopes Wednesday, but that wouldn’t be enough to propel them to a win.
The Isotopes (56-69) dropped their second straight contest of their current home series and fifth of their last six as they fell to the Memphis Redbirds, 6-5.
As they did on Tuesday, the Redbirds (67-58) scored the game-winning run in the top of the ninth inning. Robert Carson (2-4) was tagged with the loss in relief.
Along with Romack’s two homers, which give him 23 on the year, Joc Pederson hit a solo shot in the fifth. Pederson has gone yard 28 times this season.
