LAHS student tries her hand at business

The Los Alamos Youth Business Grant entrepreneurs are underway and making the grade in Los Alamos.
The 11 recipients include a variety of services from coffee roasters and landscapers to jewelry/apparel design and video production.
Elise Koskelo is the creator of Blue Wrap Designs. Koskelo is a returning applicant looking at expanding her business to include renting space from the new Nu 2 U Consignments on Trinity Drive and will use technology to enhance sales.
“I have created a new retail website, blueprintwraps.weebly.com, where customers and admirers can view pictures of my work, purchase a wrap, or see that dates of upcoming venues,” said Koskelo, who can also be reached at blueprintwraps@gmail.com.
Koskelo was inspired by her mother, also a knitter and enjoys creating new pieces by mixing various yarns and colors together. A designer at heart, she is always designing new stitches to create a one-of-a-kind wraps and enjoys marketing the product, creating photo shoots and interacting with customers face-to-face.
The youth designer makes all season wraps with lighter weight yearns used for summer shawls and wraps that are perfect for a summer evening or those chilly air conditioned offices.
“Each shawl is a versatile necessity in a woman’s wardrobe,” said Koskelo, a junior at Los Alamos High School, “It can liven an outfit for the office, on a date, to a party, or for a day out in the sun.”
