The Los Alamos High School athletic department is accepting nominations for its first ever Hall of Fame class.
The Hall of Fame class will be honored during homecoming 2014, which is scheduled for Sept. 19-20.
Nomination forms are available from the LAHS athletic office or may be found online at laschools.net. The deadline for nomination is June 1.
There are three categories for nominations, including former Hilltopper athlete, former coach and contributor to Los Alamos athletics, including assistant coaches, teachers, managers, trainers, members of the media and others.
Nominees will be evaluated by a committee — which is already in place — to select the first Hall of Fame class. Those selected will be notified by Aug. 1 and will be asked to participate in this year’s homecoming parade.
For former athlete to be considered, they must have been out of the public school system for five years and have earned state or district recognition. Former coaches should have been out of coaching for two years and earned a postseason award, led a team to a state championship or have led his or her team to multiple district titles.
