Los Alamos High School was named a “Best In Class” school among national prep athletic programs by Coach and Athletic Director (coachad.com).
LAHS was ranked among the top athletic programs by Coach and Athletic Director for its 2013 Interscholastic Sports Program of Excellence Award. The award honors the nation’s best athletic programs for its off-field achievements.
“In just our second year with the Program of Excellence, we’re overwhelmed by the quality of our nominees and the effort they put into building a distinguished athletic program,” said the website’s managing editor Kevin Hoffman in a press release. “Our judges had a very difficult job, but this year’s honorees are certainly worthy given their achievements and dedication to educational athletics.”
The top award honors went to University School of Milwaukee (Wis.) and Tappan Zee High School of Orangeburg, N.Y.
Along with LAHS, three other preps were recognized around the nation for Best in Class honors. In all, three public schools and three private schools are considered for the top honor by Coach and Athletic Director.
