Los Alamos High School finished second in the Director's Cup competition.
The Director's Cup is an award given by the New Mexico Activities Association to the top schools in the state based on their finishes in several sports and activities throughout the school year.
LAHS finished second behind Albuquerque Academy for the 2011-12 academic year.
Competing schools receive points based on finishes in district and state competition in sports, as well as interscholastic activities such as bowling, chess, choir, debate, Future Farmers of America and several others.
In 2011-12, LAHS won three state championships, boys and girls cross country and girls track and field. In activities, LAHS was the state runner-up in chess, while ROTC and choir were state semifinalists.
LAHS also earned 200 points out of a possible 300 points for the NMAA's Pursuing Victory with Honor program.
In all, the school finished with 2,500 points.
