Lab to confer on work force restructuring Monday

Los Alamos National Laboratory Director Michael Anastasio will update lab employees Monday on the status of workforce restructuring plans that were mandated by the Department of Energy. An all-employee meeting has been called for 1:15 p.m. in the auditorium of the National Security Sciences Building.A notice said the laboratory had submitted an official Specific Workforce Plan to DOE for approval on Nov. 9, and that the meeting would provide an update on those efforts. The plan is intended to address uncertainties related to funding for the current fiscal year. Congress recently passed and the President signed the Department of Defense appropriation bill, which contained a second continuing resolution extending funding levels from last year through Dec. 14, when Congress is expected to recess for the holidays.
