The UNM-Los Alamos Small Business Development Center will host two community forums on Thursday to provide LANL employees who are eligible for voluntary separation with information about opportunities and resources available to them.
The first forum will take place at the Los Alamos Research Park, 4200 West Jemez Road, in conference room #202A, 12:00 – 1:00 p.m. The second forum will be at The Hive, 134 State Road 4, in White Rock, 5:30-6:30 p.m.
The forums will include representatives from organizations with resources available to help scientists and technologists to continue their careers or pursue entrepreneurial projects in Northern New Mexico. Programs to be represented include: the UNM-Los Alamos Small Business Development Center, the Hive, High Mesa Institutes-Los Alamos, the New Mexico Consortium, and LabStart.
Because LANL’s Voluntary Separation Package application deadline is Wednesday, employees who are considering taking the package may want to complete the application process, then attend one of the forums to get additional information about continuing their research or business in Northern New Mexico; according to LANL’s human resources department, applicants for VSP have until March 19 to rescind their application, if desired.
