The Los Alamos Hilltopper softball team rallied from a 4-3 deficit in its final at-bat to win a key Class 4A contest Tuesday afternoon.
Kiana Zerr, who hit a lead-off double in the Hilltoppers’ final at-bat, and Micaela Christensen came around to score to give Los Alamos a 5-4, come-from-behind win over the Kirtland Central Broncos at Overlook Park.
Kirtland Central appeared to have the Hilltoppers on the ropes with a rally in the top of the sixth to take a 4-3 edge, but Los Alamos took advantage of two key errors in the bottom of the seventh to push the game-winning runs across.
See Wednesday’s Los Alamos Monitor for more on the game.
