Like everything he’s accomplished in his prep career, Sean Reardon set out a goal for himself and worked hard to earn it.
He met his biggest long term goal officially today, as Reardon signed his National Letter of Intent to run cross country and track for Adams State University.
Reardon, a senior at Los Alamos High School, became, in what seemed to be a relatively short time, one of the elite distance runners in the state. He burst into the state spotlight with a strong finish in the 2011 Class 4A cross country championship, but was elevated to premier status with his huge showing at the 2012 state track meet, which included a stunning victory over Jackson Thomas of Del Norte in the 1600 meters.
Now, he will become part of one of the most successful cross country programs in collegiate history as he joins Adams State’s Grizzlies. He said his first contact with the Grizzlies made a big impression on him.
“I’ve been thinking about Adams State for two years now,” Reardon said. “’We went up there to their camp when I was a sophomore. I was like ‘these guys really know what they’re talking about.’”
