The Los Alamos Hilltopper boys basketball team dropped its third game in a row to start the season Friday night.
Los Alamos traveled to St. Michael’s to take on the Horsemen at Perez-Shelley Gymnasium, making up a game that was postponed the night before.
The Horsemen, who were the runners-up in Class 3A last season, earned a decisive 69-46 victory over the Hilltoppers. It was the season opener for the Horsemen.
Los Alamos is still seeking its first victory of the year. This was the second loss for Los Alamos (0-3) by a 20-plus point margin this season.
Originally scheduled for Thursday night, Friday’s contest was the fourth postponement of the season for the Hilltoppers. One of those games, against Sandia Prep, hasn’t been rescheduled, but another, against Kirtland Central, has a make-up date of Dec. 30.
Los Alamos will be busy this month. It will appear at home Tuesday against Belen, then travel to Albuquerque Academy’s invitational tournament starting Thursday and continuing through Saturday – it opens with Albuquerque’s Bulldogs Thursday afternoon.
Following those games, it will travel to the Poe Corn Invitational tournament later this month, then come home for the Kirtland Central contest.
