LA hockey team hosts Rio Rancho tonight

The Los Alamos Hilltopper hockey team will be in action tonight at the county’s ice rink.
Los Alamos will take on the Rio Rancho Rams. Game time is 8:15 p.m.
To start their season, the Hilltoppers won two straight contests. They blasted the Santa Fe Blue Jackets 9-2 in their season opener — a home game played at Taos’ ice rink — then topped the Rams 3-1 in Rio Rancho.
Zealand Walterscheid and Sam Ortiz played in goal for Los Alamos in those opening week games.
Those two wins immediately propelled the Hilltoppers to the top of the New Mexico Interscholastic Ice Hockey League standings, ahead of Cibola (7-1).
Cibola hosts Taos Saturday in one of only five NMIIHL games set for this weekend.
