Rumelia will perform folk dancing music of the Balkans, Albania, Turkey, Macedonia, Bulgaria and Greece at the Pyramid Café at 6 p.m. Oct. 15. A $7-$10 donation is requested.

Lads of Enchantment, a chapter of the Barbershop Harmony Society, invites the public to join them in song.  Besides the enjoyment of singing in harmony, our barbershop chorus and quartets experience the thrill of performing in the community. They meet at 7:15 p.m. on Thursdays at the United Church of Los Alamos, Graves Hall. Attendees will find their chapter meetings are well planned, musically satisfying and fun. Visitors are welcome.

The Los Alamos Choral Society is currently recruiting singers for the 2011—2012 concert season. Dr. Mary Badarak, with Cindy Little as accompanist, directs the Choral Society. They will perform W.A. Mozart’s “Great Mass in C Minor.” Rehearsals are from 7-9 p.m. Tuesdays at the United Church, 2525 Canyon Road. All singers are welcome.
The Los Alamos Community Winds invites all interested musicians to join its upcoming concerts. No audition is necessary, but proficiency on a wind or percussion instrument is required. The LACW rehearses from 7-9 p.m. Tuesdays. www.lacw.org.

The HillStompers hold weekly rehearsals at 7 p.m. Mondays at the United Church (no drill). Anyone who plays a marching band instrument is welcome, regardless of age or skill level. 661-7646.
It’s time to register for Voices of Praise Choir 2011-2012. VOP is an interdenominational Christian choir for singers ages 7-18. Jamie Duke, First Baptist Church of Los Alamos is the director.  The assistant director is Greg Smithhisler, Immaculate Heart of Marcy Catholic Church. T.O.P.S. (Take Off Pounds Sensibly), meets at 9:45 a.m. Wednesday mornings in Whittier Hall at the White Rock Presbyterian Church, 310 Rover Blvd. Weigh-ins start at 9 a.m. For more information, call Lorri at 672-3407 or Francine at 672-1736.

Tuff Riders Mountain Bike Club members ride each Tuesday and Thursday, leaving at 5:30 p.m. from the hospital parking lot, for mountain bike rides at beginner through expert levels of skill and fitness with men and women of all ages. Newcomers are welcome.

Scottish Country Dancing at Fuller Lodge in the Pajarito Room is at 7:30 p.m. Mondays. Beginners are welcome, no partners necessary.
