LA girls soccer tops La Cueva, 1-0

A late goal by Allison Rooney following an outstanding run down the length of the field by Catie McDonald gave the Los Alamos Hilltopper girls soccer team a big win over the La Cueva Bears.

McDonald scooped up a pass of a La Cueva corner kick and drove down the right hashmark and took a line drive shot from point-blank range at Bears goalkeeper Sam Johnson. Johnson couldn’t hang on to the shot, which bounced straight to Rooney, crashing in from the left side for a knock-in goal to give the Hilltoppers a 1-0 win at Sullivan Field
