LA football wins, keeps pace in 2-4A

The Los Alamos Hilltopper football team fell behind the Española Valley Sundevils early in the first quarter Friday.

But the Hilltoppers rallied for 56 unanswered points to knock off the Sundevils 56-6 in the valley.

Los Alamos improves to 5-4 overall and 2-1 in district. It needed the victory to keep pace with the Santa Fe Demons in the District 2-4A standings, but still need the Demons to lose this upcoming week to Bernalillo.

The Demons were humbled this week in a nondistrict game against Class 4A Moriarty, losing that contest 62-8.

Española Valley tumbles to 0-3 in District 2-4A and 2-7 on the season.

The Hilltoppers will host the Capital Jaguars (1-8, 1-2). Capital lost 26-0 to Bernalillo this weekend.
