The Los Alamos Hilltopper football team came back from 14 points down in the second half to upset the visiting Santa Fe Demons.
Hilltopper running back Mike Sanchez went 68 yards for a score late in the fourth quarter to give the Hilltoppers a 19-14 victory Friday at Sullivan Field. Sanchez broke out of a pack at the line of scrimmage, cut left and went down the left hash straight to the end zone.
The win keeps the Hilltoppers (2-6 overall, 1-1 in 2AAAA) alive in their quest for a district title in Garett Williams’ first season as head coach.
