SANTA FE – The Los Alamos Hilltopper girls basketball team started off its season-opening game like gangbuster Tuesday night, but the St. Michael’s Horsemen came back in the second half.
The Hilltoppers led by as many as 14 points in the second quarter, but couldn’t regain their offensive rhythm in the second half and went ice cold from the foul line as the Horsemen prevailed 52-46.
Hayley Each, who played with four fouls for the bulk of the second half, finished with 10 points for Los Alamos. Alex Greenwald spearheaded the comeback for St. Mike’s and finished the game with 13 points.
