Girls soccer: Guarello, Neal both pick up hat tricks in 10-0 victory Saturday

The Los Alamos Hilltopper girls soccer team needed just 55 minutes and 13 seconds to finish the first half of the District 2-4A season with a spotless record Saturday.
The Hilltoppers scored five goals in each half to trample the Capital Jaguars 10-0 at Sullivan Field.
Both Amy Neal and Leslie Guarello finished with hat tricks in Saturday’s contest. Neal and Guarello both scored two goals in the first half and Neal closed out the contest with a goal off an assist from Megan Kober.
Los Alamos is seeking its fifth straight district championship this season. Through the first three district contests, Los Alamos has outscored Bernalillo, Santa Fe and Capital by a combined 18-0.
The Hilltoppers got the board just 2:38 into the game when Jordan Ahlers scored off an assist from Neal. Neal is among the top point scorers in the state this season.
Neal also finished with three assists. Her second assist came on Guarello’s second goal.
Also for Los Alamos, Katie Hemphill had a pair of goals, both coming in the second half less than two minutes apart. Elena Atencio had Los Alamos’ other goal, scoring in the 49th minute.
Chandler Art had a pair of assists, as did Laura Wendelberger. Jordan Ahlers also picked up an assist.
