LA clinches baseball title with win

ESPANOLA – The Los Alamos Hilltopper baseball team overwhelmed the Española Valley Sundevils in game one of Saturday’s doubleheader.
Steven Williams blasted a grand slam home run as Los Alamos scored in every inning of game one to win 17-3. The win clinched the District 2-4A championship for the Hilltoppers for the 2013 season, the team’s fifth straight title.
The win also secured a playoff spot for Los Alamos in the upcoming 4A postseason. Brackets will be announced May 5.
