Despite the weather, Los Alamos’ Hilltopper boys basketball team and the Belen Eagles will face off tonight in Griffith Gymnasium.
Tip-off for tonight’s varsity game is at 7 p.m. The game was confirmed by Los Alamos High School athletic director Vicki Nelms this morning.
Los Alamos (1-3) hasn’t played in nearly a week. In its last outing, Los Alamos was humbled by a short-handed St. Michael’s team, falling 54-29 in Santa Fe.
The Hilltoppers started off the 2011-12 season strong, downing Kirtland Central Nov. 22 but have dropped three straight since.
Tonight’s game will be just the Eagles’ third game of the season. The Eagles (1-1) haven’t played since Nov. 26, but have already topped the Moriarty Pintos, who knocked off the Hilltoppers last week at home, 53-45.
This week is a busy one for Los Alamos, which also takes part in the three-day Joe Armijo Classic, hosted by Albuquerque Academy, starting Thursday. Los Alamos opens the tournament against Class 5A Sandia.
