MELBOURNE, Australia — Alex Kirk thundered down under to the tune of 26 points as the University of New Mexico Lobos earned their second come-from-behind victory.
Kirk put in 9 points in the final quarter as the Lobos, who trailed going into the fourth quarter topped the Kilsyth Cobras 78-66.
The Lobos are on a three-game swing in Australia. Their final exhibition game is set for Sunday.
UNM led by as many as 13 points in the first half, but a Kilsyth 20-4 run starting late in the second quarter and extending into the third quarter gave the Cobras a 48-43 lead.
But UNM countered with a 13-3 spurt of its own to take the lead for good.
Kirk had 19 points in the Lobos’ previous outing Tuesday, an 87-85 win over the Sydney Kings. Kirk also had 9 rebounds against Kilsyth.
