The New Mexico Chapter of the National Association of Industrial and Office Properties (NAIOP) recently honored Los Alamos County’s Justice Center with its 2010 “Award of Excellence” in the category of Civic/Public buildings.
The application was submitted by HB Construction, the contractor for the project.
The Justice Center was completed in June 2010 and houses the three courts (magistrate, municipal and district) as well as police headquarters, the sheriff’s office and jail. Winners of the prestigious award were required to meet strict criteria, including a narrative on ways that the builder responded to challenges in meeting budget and schedule constraints, owner satisfaction, a description of the building’s layout and special features, along with information about the value, design and overall usefulness of the building.
The NAIOP is a national organization with broad representation in New Mexico.
They are actively involved in civic affairs at the local, county and state level, and their mission is to endeavor to “create an environment that encourages quality growth and development in the state.”
