Myers — James W. Myers, 89, a resident of Albuquerque since 1974, passed away Feb. 21, 2008. Born in Bangs, Texas, he is the son of James H. Myers and Ella (Dolly) Baggs Myers, and was one of 14 children. He worked with the Youth Conservation Corps during the Depression and later volunteered for the Texas National Guard. James was a WWII veteran; he served in the U.S. Army and the Army Air Corps. After the war, he met Margie Cline and they were married in 1946. He retired from Los Alamos National Laboratory, where he worked for more than 20 years.
James was preceded in death by his wife, Margie, in November 2007, and by his granddaughter Karla. He is survived by his children, William E. Myers and wife Barbara of Norman, Okla.; Carol Olson and husband Gilbert of Black Canyon City, Ariz.; and Patricia Pyburn and husband Patrick of Rio Rancho; as well as nine grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, and numerous nieces and nephews.A memorial gathering was held Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2008, in the Chapel of Daniels Family Funeral Services at 4310 Sara Road and Meadowlark Lane in Rio Rancho. In keeping with his giving nature, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of your choice.
