J. Virginia Gardner, age 81, passed away at Los Alamos Medical Center Nov. 16, 2007, after a long illness.
She was born in Albia, Iowa, on Jan. 30, 1926, to C.L. Krebs and Martha Johnson. She married John G. Gardner in Albuquerque, N.M., on March 22, 1946. She had an associate’s degree and was an administrative office executive for Los Alamos National Laboratory from 1962-1995.She is survived by her sister, Mary Beth Schmidt of New Brauneels, Texas; husband, John G. Gardner of Los Alamos, N.M.; sons: Roger L. Gardner of Annadale, Va.; Mark C. Gardner of Polk City, Iowa; and Kenneth D. Gardner of Alamogordo, N.M.; and four grandchildren.A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 21, 2007, at First United Methodist Church in Los Alamos. Interment will follow at 4:30 p.m. at Sunset Gardens Memorial Park in Carlsbad.In lieu of flowers, kindly make donations to the Alzheimer’s Association New Mexico Chapter, 9500 Montgomery NE, Suite 209, Albuquerque, NM 87111.Arrangements are under the direction of Berardinelli Family Funeral Service, 1399 Luisa Street, Santa Fe, NM 87505 – 505-984-8600.
