Dear Editor,It has been 10 months since the Municipal Building ad hoc committee narrowed the number of options to six for dealing with our current Municipal Building. While the county council has a lot on its plate, it is time to make a decision on this issue. For me, there are only two options worth considering: 1) gut and renovate the existing building, plus add approximately 10,000 square feet, or 2) gut and renovate the building and put approximately 10,000 square feet elsewhere (in the Judicial Complex, White Rock or elsewhere). The option to locate the Municipal Building somewhere “downtown” and use the current space for a facility more culturally suitable to the area seems to ignore the fact that next door is/will be the police and judicial complex. Or have I gotten my cultural metaphors scrambled?Tom SandfordLos Alamos
