Along with her new real estate venture, entrepreneur Tracy Langford and her son Andy are set to open the first wireless Internet and multi-media entertainment center in town. The Hot Spot, a wireless Internet center with sound-proof gaming rooms, will open toward the end of the month at 1247-D Central Avenue. “The Hot Spot is a new, fresh idea for Los Alamos,” Langford said. “It will be a fun, safe and enjoyable environment where people can come by and enjoy our wireless environment and mind boggling gaming adventures.”The idea for the business evolved in part because Langford had trouble finding the right sized space for her new real estate company, The LA Real Estate Group. She finally settled on the Central Avenue location, which is much larger than needed. During brainstorming conversations with her son, The Hot Spot, which the Langford’s describe as “metro-retro,” was born and will fill the additional space.“One of the greatest things about creating the business is that I’ve had the opportunity to do this with my son,” Langford said.Andy, 22, is an economic major in Provo, Utah. He and his two brothers grew up in the Langford household playing computer games.
