I was fortunate to go to LAMC on Halloween Day this year and enjoyed the delightful costumes worn by the staff. The main entrance was populated by the characters from the storybook “The Wizard of Oz” beginning with Dorothy at registration and ending with the Wizard himself. What a great welcoming!
After this magical introduction, I proceeded to the blood lab, which was decorated to resemble the caves from the Flintstones cartoon and was populated by folks in animal skins. The blood technician was costumed as Fred Flinstone and did the best work of any technician I have ever known (and I was a blood technician years ago.)
All in all, I really wish more appreciative folks had experienced the effort put forth by our LAMC this Halloween. The staff told me that the decorations and costumes were provided by the employees and were not paid for by LAMC. I thank them one and all for making my day.
